About the position

As an Information Security Analyst specializing in Data Analytics at American Express, you will be an integral part of the Identity Control and Analytics team within the Identity and Lifecycle Management division. This mid-level professional role is designed for individuals who are adept at developing strategies and implementing control measures effectively. Your primary responsibility will be to support the policy-based access control (PBAC) and access revocation processes, ensuring that the technologies, processes, and project initiatives are aligned with the company's security standards. In this role, you will engineer solutions that proactively minimize the need for human intervention in Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls. You will analyze datasets from various sources to identify trends and opportunities for access revocation, performing exploratory analysis to uncover patterns and insights. Your contributions will include creating and updating process and technical documentation, as well as providing day-to-day operational management over functional processes and project delivery. You will be accountable for ensuring that security best practices, policies, and procedures are implemented and adhered to across the organization. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support the policy-based access control (PBAC) and access revocation processes.
  • Engineer solutions that proactively reduce the need for human intervention in IAM controls.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for access revocation through analysis of datasets from various sources.
  • Participate in the development of plans and strategies for information security processes and programs.
  • Perform exploratory analysis to identify patterns and insights in the data and automate access revocations based on insights.
  • Provide day-to-day operational management over functional processes and project delivery.
  • Create and update process and technical documentation.
  • Ensure security standard methodologies, policies, and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
  • Conduct project requirements analysis, technical design, and implementation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Information systems.
  • Understanding of Identity and Access Management, including threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to interpret data from various sources to provide valuable insights and implement recommendations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python.
  • Ability to analyze data and produce meaningful conclusions.
  • Experience with Web Services and REST APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple concurrent assignments with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and dedicated, with the ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work effectively in ambiguous situations, and drive results.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
