About the position
The Information Security Analyst I position at Firewalls.com involves monitoring and responding to service requests related to network security. The role is crucial in maintaining and upgrading network equipment, particularly firewalls, and requires a strong understanding of IT networking and customer service skills. Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to inbound service requests through the Service Desk Ticketing system.
- Remotely install, maintain, repair, and upgrade network equipment/systems primarily related to firewalls.
- Diagnose and fix problems or potential issues with the network and its hardware, software, and systems remotely.
- Assist the Professional Services Team with firewall analysis, recommendations, and deployments.
- Obtain technical certifications from IT vendors.
- Act as an intermediary between customers and the escalations team.
- Be flexible and willing to work occasional overtime.
Requirements
- Understanding of IT networking including Routing, NAT, DNS, subnets, VLANs, IP Addressing, WiFi, VPN, and Authentication methods such as LDAP, RADIUS, and MFA.
- Network+ and/or Security+ certifications required.
- Experience with wireless, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to resolve problems with users and clients.
- Ability to multitask and be self-directed.
- Ability to quickly learn new IT equipment and software.
Nice-to-haves
- CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.
