About the position

The Information Security Analyst position at Minnesota IT Services involves providing security analysis and automation for applications supported by the Office of Information Security. The role requires secure programming knowledge and skills, contributing to both maintenance and new project work within the software development life cycle. This position is eligible for full-time telework and is anticipated to last up to two years, serving the Department of Human Services in Minnesota.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security analysis and security automation for applications.
  • Utilize secure programming knowledge for software development life cycles.
  • Support complex technical needs for the Department of Human Services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in information technology or information security.
  • Experience working with relational databases.
  • Programming skills and ability to deliver effective communication.
  • Customer service skills including active listening and problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field, or an associate's degree with relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security or related field.
  • Knowledge of information security standards (NIST, ISO 27001/17799).
  • Experience with JSON and communicating technical issues to non-technical employees.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM.
