About the position

Samsung, a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, is dedicated to the endless pursuit of excellence, aiming to create a better world for all. At the Samsung Austin Research and Development Center (SARC) and Advanced Computing Lab (ACL), we are establishing a center of excellence for Intellectual Property (IP) that is applied to high-performance computing devices across various sectors, including mobile and automotive. This role is crucial in ensuring the security of our computer networks and protecting our intellectual property from potential threats. As an Information Security Analyst, you will perform critical technology security and encryption engineering duties that align with the company's initiatives. Your responsibilities will include planning security project implementations and monitoring key cryptography and electronic infrastructure measures. You will collaborate with IT to optimize security configurations for systems and infrastructure components, ensuring that our security posture is robust and effective. Additionally, you will interface with cyber-security experts at our global headquarters to engage in audit and remediation activities, contributing to the overall security framework of the organization. You will also be responsible for reviewing and reporting on cyber-security threats and vulnerabilities, playing a key role in any cyber-security-related incident response team. Your contributions will extend to regularly scheduled security training and awareness campaigns aimed at educating users and business stakeholders about security best practices and potential risks. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity and security of our technological assets and ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform critical technology security/encryption engineering duties to protect computer networks.
  • Plan security project implementations and monitor key cryptography and electronic infrastructure measures.
  • Partner with IT to optimize security configurations for systems and infrastructure components.
  • Interface with cyber-security experts at global headquarters in audit and remediation activities.
  • Review and report cyber-security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Participate as a key member of any cyber-security-related incident response team.
  • Contribute to regularly-scheduled security training and awareness campaigns for users and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related field; and 60 months of experience in the job offered.
  • Requires 24 months of experience involving Security information and event management (SIEM), Security Compliance, and Risk Analysis.
