About the position

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for ensuring the cybersecurity of the Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS) owned by the Civil Engineer (CE) community. This role involves acting as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the CE control system Community of Interest Network Enclave (COINE), maintaining security compliance, and coordinating with various teams to protect and secure information systems. The analyst will conduct assessments, audits, and incident response activities to safeguard the integrity of networks and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the CE control system Community of Interest Network Enclave (COINE).
  • Create and maintain a complete and accurate inventory of FRCS and its components.
  • Assist CES personnel with security control implementation and assessment of FRCS.
  • Register systems in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to attain Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Recognize and analyze potential intrusion attempts and compromises.
  • Implement counter-measures or mitigating controls for security threats.
  • Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by enforcing organizational security policies.
  • Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure the safety of information systems assets from unauthorized access or destruction.
  • Conduct Computer Security Incident Response activities and coordinate with AFCEC to report incidents.
  • Coordinate with local CES organization and AFCEC/COOI Team for cybersecurity accreditation and support.
  • Provide hands-on operational support for local AFCEC owned network and server equipment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in information security or related field.
  • Active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or ability to obtain an Interim Secret).
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and security controls implementation.
  • Experience with cybersecurity compliance assessments and audits.
  • Familiarity with eMASS and ATO processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with facility-related control systems (FRCS).
  • Knowledge of network topology and documentation standards.
  • Ability to create Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
  • Experience in incident report preparation and analysis.
