About the position

The Information Security Analyst Senior at USAA will be part of the Cyber Threat Enterprise Capabilities (CTEC) Team, focusing on managing model risk in the cybersecurity domain. This role involves collaboration across various departments, technical analysis, and solution development, with a strong emphasis on model life-cycle management for cybersecurity technologies. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and responding to security threats, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with risk management policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead peers and team members in executing Information Security domain activities.
  • Research and analyze the latest information security vulnerabilities, threats, exploits, trends, and intelligence.
  • Conduct advanced vulnerability management, security configuration assessments, and penetration testing operations.
  • Monitor internal and external networks for advanced security anomalies and events.
  • Train analysts in incident detection and response.
  • Respond to cyber incidents and perform detailed analysis using complex security tools.
  • Prepare and deliver briefs with recommendations to senior leadership on threats and incidents.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified and controlled.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 6 years of related experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology with a security focus.
  • 4 years of experience in Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture, or related domains.
  • Advanced knowledge of business operations, risk management, and industry practices.
  • Knowledge of attacker tools and tactics, and defense-in-depth principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive work experience in model development and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge in quantitative fields such as Economics, Mathematics, or Data Science.
  • Expert skill in producing high-quality technical documentation.
  • Strong programming skills in R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or similar languages.
  • Subject matter expertise in exploratory data analysis, simulation, and statistical models.
