About the position

The Information Security Analyst I at PacificSource Health Plans is responsible for protecting the organization's information systems and data from unauthorized access and threats. This role involves monitoring security incidents, conducting vulnerability assessments, and supporting the implementation of security controls to maintain compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing the security posture of the organization and fostering a culture of security awareness among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure security operations meet business needs and adapt to evolving threats.
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to security incidents, coordinating resources and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Create, maintain, and train stakeholders on security incident response protocols.
  • Contribute to the maturation of the Information Security Program by improving security operations and controls.
  • Audit security controls and validate the efficacy of existing measures.
  • Stay updated on current attack methods to identify threats and advise on prevention and remediation strategies.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining technical security programs.
  • Promote a strong security culture through collaboration with other departments.
  • Remain current on industry best practices and the threat landscape.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in information security or related IT field required.
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience) required.
  • Relevant IT security certifications or accreditations preferred, such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, GISF, GSEC, or ISC2 Associate.
  • Experience in security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and DLP systems.
  • Knowledge of system administration on Windows, UNIX, or Linux is preferred.
  • Familiarity with network architecture and technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, and PCI compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Persistent Threats (ATP) and the current threat landscape.
