About the position

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization's information systems, endpoints, IoT devices, and network infrastructure from potential cyber threats. This role requires a nuanced understanding of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and in-depth experience in cloud environments, datacenter systems, and information security trends. The analyst will manage and analyze security incidents, implement security measures, and ensure compliance with industry standards while collaborating within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Propose, review, and codify security policies and procedures that align with industry standards.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing success of DLP and DLM solutions.
  • Perform or interact with 3rd party vulnerability assessments and remediate issues.
  • Support annual risk assessment for regulatory compliance, insurance assessment, and audit compliance.
  • Monitor the corporate network for security threats and breaches.
  • Conduct security incident investigations and assist during cyber incident response.
  • Conduct network management, monitoring, and intrusion detection analysis.
  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation.
  • Provide strategic direction for investment in security infrastructure.
  • Research, test, analyze, recommend, and implement new technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • AS in Computer Science or equivalent program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Incident Response experience.
  • ITIL framework and ITSM best practice methodologies.
  • Fundamental understanding of CISSP practices.
  • Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering skills to implement and maintain security requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in academic environments.
  • Knowledge of Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
