About the position

The Information Security Analyst position at Peraton involves providing IT Security Risk and Compliance support for various international and domestic SSA information systems. The role requires the analyst to serve as a resource for system stakeholders on regulatory compliance, security controls, and vulnerabilities, while also conducting on-site assessments and evaluations to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT Security Risk and Compliance support to SSA information systems.
• Serve as an IT Security support resource to system stakeholders.
• Conduct on-site assessments and provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input.
• Examine on-site assessment documents and supporting artifacts from contractors handling FTI.
• Interview and test activities during on-site assessments in compliance with IRC 6103.
• Evaluate systems for compliance with IRS Publication 1075 and IRC 6103.
• Identify the effectiveness of controls set forth by IRC 6103.
• Implement the TFA On-site Review Template to document FTI safeguards.
• Interpret and evaluate the implementation of NIST 800-53A Rev 4 Security controls.
• Collect technical and physical evidence and document findings.
• Produce detailed reports of assessments and findings.
• Evaluate proposed remediation of identified deficiencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field with 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of computer operating systems, networks, and data management processes.
• 3 years of experience with information security concepts and processes.
• Excellent analytic skills for evaluating information and producing assessments.
• Demonstrated facility with technical documentation.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Must pass required Federal background screening/security check.
• One or more industry certifications (CISSP, CAP, SANS GIAC, IAT or IAM Level I-III, or NSA's IAM/IEM).
• Desire and ability to quickly obtain industry certifications if needed.
• Must obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.
