About the position

The Information Security Analyst at American Cybersystems, Inc. is responsible for safeguarding the company's computing environment by detecting and preventing cyber threats. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities in the company's infrastructure, implementing security measures, and responding to security breaches. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining the security of digital files and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and collaborating with various teams to enhance security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Develop plans to safeguard computer files against unauthorized access and modification.
  • Review violations of computer security procedures and discuss with violators to prevent recurrence.
  • Plan, implement, and upgrade security measures and controls.
  • Establish protocols to protect digital files and information systems.
  • Maintain data and monitor security access.
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments.
  • Conduct internal security audits and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the infrastructure team to manage network security measures.
  • Analyze security breaches to determine root causes and recommend countermeasures.
  • Define, implement, and maintain corporate security policies.
  • Train employees in security awareness and procedures.
  • Coordinate security plans with outside vendors.
  • Respond to eDiscovery and digital forensics requests.
  • Work an on-call rotating schedule outside regular hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Five years of experience in a security analyst role for a medium to large company.
  • Experience in penetration testing and vulnerability testing.
  • Knowledge of anti-virus and anti-malware solutions.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, computer networking, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with firewalls, proxies, IDS, IPS, and security appliances.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of network protocols and packet analysis tools.
  • Comprehension of development and scripting languages (C#, VB, Python, C, .NET).
  • Experience with cloud computing and SaaS models.
  • Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and log analysis.
