About the position

The Information Security Analyst position at the Department of Economic Security (DES) involves protecting the organization's computer networks and systems from cyber threats. The role requires continuous adaptation to evolving cyber-attack methods, research into new security technologies, and collaboration with various teams to implement security measures. The position offers flexibility, including the possibility of remote work within Arizona, while ensuring that performance measures are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing an automated framework for Security Tool deployment and vulnerability scanning.
  • Monitor the organization's networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
  • Install and use software and data encryption programs to protect sensitive information.
  • Prepare reports documenting security breaches and the extent of the damage caused.
  • Research the latest IT security trends and technologies.
  • Utilize Tenable I/O, Tenable SC, Qualys, and Risk Sense for security management.
  • Help users install or learn about new security products and procedures.
  • Assist in documenting Applications and Cloud Services in a System Security Plan.
  • Work closely with product and platform teams to implement application and cloud security controls.
  • Develop security standards and best practices for the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or 1 - 3 years of experience in information security analysis or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Intrusion Prevention Systems and Security Regulations and Standards.
  • Familiarity with information security technologies in risk assessment, compliance, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with Information Event Management (SIEM) and Risk Management Framework.
  • Detail-oriented with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
