About the position

The Information Security Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's digital and IT resources. This position involves managing cybersecurity tools, supporting security systems, and contributing to strategies that protect the organization's digital infrastructure and data. The analyst will also participate in team training, assist with system backups, and ensure compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the security of the organization's digital and IT resources.
• Help maintain and ensure the effectiveness of cybersecurity tools and software.
• Support the administration of security systems, including firewalls and intrusion detection tools.
• Contribute to strategies for protecting the organization's digital infrastructure and data.
• Participate in team training and mentorship to build cybersecurity skills.
• Aid in performing regular system and data backups securely.
• Assist in managing email systems with a strong focus on security.
• Help implement measures to secure IT assets.
• Identify and suggest ways to improve cybersecurity practices.
• Support secure data storage and transmission within the company's data hosting operations.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity technologies and industry practices.
• Help maintain the integrity of networked computers across business units.
• Assist with installing and setting up security software on computer systems.
• Help troubleshoot security issues and address potential weaknesses in hardware or software.
• Review security incident logs to identify and address potential threats.
• Act as a point of contact for end users to communicate cybersecurity concerns or needs.
• Ensure that IT infrastructure meets government and industry security standards.
• Take on additional related responsibilities as needed within the scope of cybersecurity.

Requirements

• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field preferred.
• Typically 0-5 years experience in Information Security.
• Excellent knowledge of IS systems and infrastructure.
• Background in designing/developing IS systems and penetration tests.
• Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations.
• Ability to strategize and solve problems.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
