About the position

The Global Controls Assurance & Validation Manager at Bank of America is responsible for validating the efficacy of technical controls within the Global Information Security (GIS) organization against known threats. This role involves managing a team to enhance existing security programs and tools, ensuring robust validation of security controls, and fostering relationships with control process owners. The position requires significant experience in cybersecurity and leadership skills to guide a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Global Controls Assurance & Validation team.
• Identify and deliver enhancements to the existing program and/or tools.
• Partner with GIS defensive control process owners to ensure adequate validation of processes.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing guidance on control enhancements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience in cybersecurity or information security.
• Experience with breach simulation or similar tools.
• Experience implementing cybersecurity tools alongside a product management team.
• Knowledge of information security defensive controls and their interconnective nature.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while managing a team and multiple efforts simultaneously.
• Strong leadership skills to work with peers and various levels of management.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience in the remediation of Information Security risks/vulnerabilities.
• Experience with defensive information security controls.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
• One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CJEH, OSCP, or equivalent work experience.
