About the position

The Information Security Intern position offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about cybersecurity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. Interns will assist the Information Security team in protecting critical systems, testing security protocols, and working with advanced tools such as Azure, AWS, and CrowdStrike. This role is designed to provide real-world experience while accommodating the intern's schedule and educational commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Information Security team with day-to-day tasks across various departmental activities.
  • Support the information security operations staff in monitoring and securing analytics activities.
  • Update and test incident response plans, prepare action plans, and test scenarios for detecting and responding to security incidents.
  • Perform updates and testing for the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), including documentation, business process updates, and testing recovery plans to ensure redundancy for critical technology.
  • Update systems and equipment to document Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
  • Conduct information security testing using tools such as Azure, AWS, CrowdStrike, and iBoss.
  • Create and update information security policies and procedures, including updating existing procedures within Tandem software.
  • Oversee patch and vulnerability management for various cloud environments.
  • Assist with gathering requirements and evidence for audits, including SOC 2 and PCI DSS compliance.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Business or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into clear procedures.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a drive to learn.
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility for tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to create structure and clarity in complex situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
