About the position

The Information Security Manager - III at Base One Technologies is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of the lab's information security measures. This role involves assessing the current security infrastructure, designing future security programs, and implementing solutions to meet security requirements. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of information security practices and the ability to lead major technology assignments while functioning as a technical expert across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to plan, coordinate, and implement the lab's information security.
  • Facilitating the identification of the lab's current security infrastructure and defining future programs.
  • Assisting security staff in designing, developing, and implementing solutions to security requirements.
  • Implementing and developing the DHS IT security framework.
  • Gathering and organizing technical information about the lab's mission goals and existing security products.
  • Performing risk analyses and assessments.
  • Applying expertise across multiple complex work assignments requiring originality and innovation.
  • Planning and leading major technology assignments.
  • Evaluating performance results and recommending changes for project growth and success.
  • Functioning as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret clearance; TS/SCI clearance highly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in information security.
  • Knowledge of Computer Network Defense (CND) policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth principles and network security architecture.
  • Knowledge of boundary protection and enclaving.
  • Knowledge of authentication and access management technologies.
  • Understanding of business security practices and procedures, current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, and encryption techniques.
  • Ability to serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across physical locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • DHS experience.
  • Cybersecurity skills including threat hunting.
  • Advanced knowledge of RMF framework.
  • Experience working ATO's.
