The Information Security Manager is a senior-level position responsible for the daily operation management and supervision of team members in Information Security. This role involves establishing internal team priorities, work content, and goals to achieve these priorities. The effectiveness of this position is evaluated based on results achieved toward established goals and priorities, timeliness, and the demonstration of sound judgment and efficient use of resources. The manager will oversee all security management functions within the assigned area of Information Security and will take necessary steps to leverage investments in applications and technology by identifying opportunities to maximize quality and efficiency of system, application, and technology usage. In this role, the Information Security Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the strategic development, implementation, deployment, and operation of information security solutions that align with organizational initiatives and strategies. The manager will also be responsible for developing and driving cost efficiencies within information security services and project delivery. Mentoring and developing employees is a key aspect of this role, as is maintaining the organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies. The position requires directing research by studying organizational goals, strategies, practices, and user projects. The manager will recommend information security strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements. Financial and budget objectives will be accomplished by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. The manager will maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards and key performance metrics, while also keeping professional and technical knowledge up to date through educational workshops, professional publications, and participation in professional societies. Additionally, the manager will challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor, and will initiate and implement improvements in all areas of responsibility.
