About the position
The Information Security Manager is responsible for safeguarding the District's information assets by implementing and maintaining robust information security programs. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and fosters a culture of security awareness within the organization. Reporting to the Director II of Information Technology Services, the manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture of the District.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain information security programs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Foster a culture of security awareness within the organization.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Manage vulnerability assessments and incident response activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience at the enterprise level in Information Systems or Technology, focusing on information security.
- Proven experience in information security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a technology K-12 environment is highly desirable.
- Preferred certifications from (ISC)², GIAC, ISACA, Cisco, and Fortinet.
