About the position

The Information Security Specialist position at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is responsible for managing security programs and operations related to sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIF). This role ensures compliance with intelligence community guidance and oversees secure communication protocols to protect classified national security information. The position is critical in supporting the planning and organization of NCUA missions, making it essential for maintaining the integrity and security of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF) operations.
  • Manage security programs in support of the planning, organization, and development of NCUA missions.
  • Ensure all secure communication is in accordance with Intelligence Community guidance to prevent unauthorized interceptors.
  • Serve as a registrar for the Homeland Security Policy Directive 12 (HSPD-12) PIV program.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Specialized experience safeguarding classified national security information, conducting information security inspections, and maintaining secure communications systems and equipment for CU-13 level.
  • Specialized experience investigating information security violations and managing secure compartmented information facilities (SCIF) for CU-14 level.
  • Suitable adjudication of background/security investigation is required.
  • A probationary/trial period may be required.
  • Drug testing is required.
  • A financial disclosure is required.
