About the position

The Information Security Systems Analyst role is a remote position focused on assessing and analyzing software systems with an emphasis on technology and cybersecurity. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and analytical thinking to ensure compliance with high security standards, particularly in cloud environments. The analyst will work collaboratively with a diverse team to enhance system functionality and security.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze existing software environments including usage, licenses, architecture, data aspects, and cybersecurity aspects.
  • Analyze security audits data.
  • Translate complex business requirements into effective software solutions and system designs.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud solutions and architectures that fit organizational needs.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify system inefficiencies and recommend enhancements.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and threats, recommending solutions and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Design and implement cloud-based systems ensuring scalability, availability, and resilience.
  • Review cloud resources and optimize performance while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Recommend security policies, procedures, and standards for data protection and system integrity.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Support the design of security controls, including access management and encryption.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including systems design specifications and security guidelines.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or related role, focusing on cloud technologies and information security.
  • Proven experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), systems architecture, and best practices in software engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security principles and frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
  • Proficiency in using tools for cloud management, security monitoring, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, or CISM.
