About the position

The Information Specialist at the Department of Commerce will play a crucial role in managing outreach and communication efforts related to advanced manufacturing initiatives. This position involves coordinating projects and programs that support the Manufacturing USA network, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders. The role is designed for a full-time term of four years, with opportunities for professional growth and development within a supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate key projects and programs across the Division's portfolio of communication, outreach, and education and workforce development-related products and services for Manufacturing USA network partners.
  • Monitor plans, timelines, and deliverables for the Manufacturing USA strategic communications campaign in collaboration with project leads and the Division Chief.
  • Support website postings by identifying content, drafting and editing social media copy, and assisting with public-facing email communications.
  • Track and edit PowerPoint slides for presentations and reports.
  • Provide operational support for work streams associated with key annual projects.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service, including managing complex project plans and communicating with diverse audiences.
  • Experience in writing and editing information for public dissemination and conducting research and analysis for communications and outreach tools.

Nice-to-haves
