About the position

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) position at ManTech involves providing engineering and IT services to secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure. The role focuses on technical security assessments, system security requirements validation, and the design and implementation of security architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Performing or reviewing technical security assessments
  • Validating and verifying system security requirements
  • Designing, developing, implementing and/or integrating Information Assurance and security system components
  • Supporting the building of security architectures
  • Enforcing the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures
  • Assessing and mitigating system security threats/risks
  • Contributing to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities
  • Review certification and accreditation (C&A) documents

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 14 years of experience or 18 years of total experience
  • Experience as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Experience as the primary security engineering or security officer representative
  • Knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure in designing, developing, and implementing secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
  • Experience in security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management
  • Experience in determining system-level solutions resolving security requirements
  • CISSP Certification is required (DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IASAE Level 2)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supporting security authorization activities in compliance with customer Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and customer business processes for security engineering
