About the position

The Information System Security Manager (ISSM) at SecuriGence is responsible for leading and enhancing the organization's security posture. This role combines strategic vision, technical expertise, and operational leadership to ensure the governance, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive systems and data. The ISSM will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and protocols, while also managing risks and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with DARPA's mission and technological landscape.
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cybersecurity risks.
  • Establish and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards that meet or exceed DoD and industry best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant security regulations, including NIST RMF and DoD STIGs.
  • Promote a strong security culture within SecuriGence and DARPA through training programs and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Develop and implement an effective incident response plan for security incidents.
  • Establish a robust vulnerability management program that exceeds DOD mandates.
  • Oversee 24/7 security operations, including continuous monitoring of networks and systems.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats and adapt security strategies accordingly.
  • Design and implement secure architectures for systems, networks, and applications.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments and audits, recommending corrective actions.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement security tools and technologies to enhance security posture.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into the development lifecycle of new products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Must obtain or carry an Agilist certification and DoD 8140.01 IAM-III certification (CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO).
  • Active Top Secret Clearance (SCI eligibility highly desired).
  • Demonstrated expertise in network security, vulnerability management, incident response, security architecture, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and build strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with DARPA or other DoD agencies, including knowledge of their security requirements and technologies.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and SecDevOps practices.
