About the position

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at ManTech International Corporation plays a crucial role in safeguarding national security by providing support for government programs and ensuring compliance with security standards. This position involves managing security controls, developing security documentation, and evaluating security solutions for both legacy and future systems. The ISSO will work closely with senior government leaders and technical professionals to implement and enforce information systems security policies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for government programs and legacy systems for information assurance.
• Achieve approval for programs for the Authority to Operate (ATO).
• Implement and manage NIST 800-53 Rev. 4 Security Controls.
• Develop, maintain, and manage Security Authorization and Assessment packages including System Security Plans (SSP) and Contingency Plans (CP).
• Align systems activities to the NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF).
• Identify and support system Interconnection Security requirements.
• Propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce information systems security policies and standards.
• Evaluate security solutions of legacy systems and future systems to ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Conduct vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation.
• Prepare and review documentation including Systems Security Plans (SSPs) and Risk Assessment Reports.

Requirements

• 11+ years of experience in information security or a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with NIST and CMS security documentation, including NIST 800-53 and CMS Risk Management Handbook.
• Superior customer interface skills with excellent oral and written communication skills.
