About the position

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at Lockheed Martin plays a crucial role in supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs by ensuring that classified information systems comply with cybersecurity requirements and government directives. This position involves leveraging technical skills to conduct cyber risk assessments, develop system documentation, and monitor security controls throughout the information systems lifecycle. The ISSO will also engage in security monitoring and collaborate with various teams to implement secure technical solutions, particularly in emerging areas like Cloud Computing and DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret the DCSA Assessment & Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM) to determine technical Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessment activities, including vulnerability analysis and mitigation solution analysis.
  • Ensure proper security implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Develop system documentation for information system authorization and security management.
  • Monitor security infrastructure and alarm devices for Indicators of Compromise (IOC) using SIEM and cybersecurity tools.
  • Perform hardware/software configuration management and investigations on IA-related security events.
  • Coordinate with cyber systems security engineers and developers to provide oversight in developing secure technical solutions.
  • Participate in implementing current and future security domains, including Cloud Computing and DevSecOps.

Requirements

  • DoD 8570 approved baseline certification for IAM Level I (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CAP, GSLC).
  • Experience leveraging security tools such as Splunk, Nessus, Trellix, Ivanti, ACAS.
  • Experience as an ISSO managing cybersecurity requirements on classified systems under JSIG, NISPOM, ICD 503, and/or CNSSI 1253.
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems and Windows Domain infrastructure (e.g., Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, Group Policy Objects, Active Directory).

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced knowledge in assessing a comprehensive cybersecurity program including risk management and system security plans.
  • Experience with Azure or similar cloud environments and recognized cloud proficiency (e.g., CCSP, AWS).
  • Experience using cloud security tool sets (e.g., Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Azure Defender).
  • Experience with configuration management products (e.g., Ansible, SCCM/MECM, Chef, Puppet).
  • Possess DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP, CAP).
