About the position

ActioNet has an open opportunity for a F5 Networks Information System Security Specialist III eligible for SECRET Clearance. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. This position is located in Charleston, SC and involves applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes for evaluating and managing risks associated with information systems. The specialist will be responsible for preparing and maintaining security policies, guidance documents, process artifacts, and traceability documents to ensure compliance with Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements. Additionally, the role requires evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet the necessary requirements for processing classified information and supervising the operational security posture of information systems or programs. The Information System Security Specialist III will assist in developing system security policies and ensuring compliance with change management and configuration control processes. The position also requires obtaining a vendor/platform-specific certification from F5 Networks and maintaining at least one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP). Depending on tasking, the specialist may also need to hold certifications in Information Assurance Management (IAM), Information Assurance Technical (IAT), or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II or III. This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of information systems within the organization, and it requires a strong background in cybersecurity, engineering, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of practical experience in these areas, along with the necessary certifications to support their expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes for evaluating and managing risks.
  • Prepare and maintain security policies, guidance documents, process artifacts, and traceability documents for Authority to Operate (ATO) compliance.
  • Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing up to classified information.
  • Supervise and maintain the operational security posture of information systems or programs.
  • Assist in or develop system security policies and ensure compliance with change management and configuration control processes.
  • Obtain a vendor/platform-specific certification from F5 Networks.
  • Maintain at least one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Depending on tasking, hold certification in Information Assurance Management (IAM), Information Assurance Technical (IAT), or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II or III.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance, with eligibility for Top Secret.
  • Five (5) years with Bachelor's degree or seven (7) years with HS/GED of practical experience demonstrating competency in Cybersecurity, Engineering, Test & Evaluation (T&E) or Assessment & Authorization (A&A)/ Certification & Accreditation (C&A) related field as they pertain to F5 networks.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
  • Familiarity with security policies & guidance documents to assist with the preparation and maintenance of process artifacts, traceability documents for compliance with Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
  • Experience in evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing up to classified information and supervising and/or maintaining the operational security posture for an information system or program.
  • Experience assisting or developing system security policy and ensuring compliance of change management and configuration control processes.
