About the position

ENSCO Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the Eastern Range Launch and Test Range Systems (LTRS) team at Patrick Space Force Base in Cocoa Beach, FL. This role is crucial for ensuring the security and integrity of information systems that are vital for space launch operations. The ISSE will engage in various security activities, including risk assessments, security audits, and the development of security policies, while collaborating with a dynamic team in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for the WR LTRS Accreditation Boundaries.
  • Collaborate with the ER LTRS ISSE team and ER LTRS Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure the security and integrity of information systems supporting launch and test range operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and support security audits to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security plans, policies, and procedures in accordance with industry standards and government regulations.
  • Evaluate and recommend security solutions, including hardware, software, and network configurations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats and technologies, and proactively adapt security measures to address them.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs.
  • Occasional travel to VSFB, as well as potential travel to Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB) and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), Florida to provide on-site support and collaboration.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of specific experience in Cybersecurity Engineering or Operations.
  • Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing with team members, management, and customers.
  • Ability to analyze situations and develop a path to achieve success.
  • Effective time management and task prioritization to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Quick decision-making based on available information.
  • Strategic thinking and business growth capabilities.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I Certification or IAT II Certification.
  • Current DoD SECRET clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to cybersecurity threats.
  • Capability to identify and solve complex cybersecurity problems.
  • DoD 8570.01-M, IASAE Level II certification.
