About the position

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) role at BAE Systems involves supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) Integration Test & Image Quality Office. The ISSE will be responsible for overseeing security operations, ensuring compliance with security regulations, and maintaining system security plans. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team of professionals dedicated to enhancing product quality and security in geospatial intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and implement System Security Plans that meet contractual requirements.
• Oversee day-to-day security operations of unclassified and classified information systems.
• Support all disciplines within the security program to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with program managers and system security engineers throughout the system life cycle development.
• Implement security measures in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
• Conduct ongoing vulnerability testing to verify security features and controls.
• Interact with internal and external customers regarding security duties and information security matters.
• Implement facility procedures for handling classified content and equipment.
• Assist in reporting and mitigating information system security incidents.

Requirements

• 14 years of professional experience, with 8 years having a Bachelor's degree or 6 years with a Master's degree.
• CISSP preferred or Security+ certification, with a focus on obtaining advanced certification.
• 8570 compliant IAT level II Certification required.
• Understanding of Automated Information Systems and National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Chapter 8.
• Proficiency with various computer applications and testing tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DISA STIG Viewer, Nessus).
• Experience in the certification and accreditation process of information systems.
