About the position

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) role is crucial for ensuring that security engineering principles are effectively integrated into the information systems architecture of assigned programs. This position serves as a bridge between high-level security policies and their technical implementation, supporting government missions both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Apply current systems security engineering methods, practices, and technologies to maintain system security.
• Develop, implement, and enforce information systems security policies throughout the acquisition and IS lifecycle.
• Evaluate proposed security architectures and designs for compliance with security objectives.
• Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and authorization activities for complex software systems.
• Support the resolution of conflicting system security engineering requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent training and work experience.
• Ability to develop and interpret security architectures and data flow diagrams.
• Experience with modern networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing.
• Ability to identify risk areas of non-compliance and propose solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• CISSP-ISSEP certification preferred.
