About the position
The Information Systems Security Officer 3 position is designed for experts in classified computing environments within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community. The role involves supporting information systems lifecycle activities, ensuring compliance with security policies, and conducting assessments to mitigate risks associated with classified systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave.
- Identify deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
- Establish program control processes to mitigate risks and support certification and accreditation of systems.
- Assist in implementing government policy and make recommendations on process tailoring.
- Perform analyses to validate security requirements and recommend additional safeguards.
- Support formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by government accrediting authorities.
- Complete Assessment and Authorization activities, including RMF Body Of Evidence documentation.
- Conduct reviews of system audits and monitor corrective actions until closure.
Requirements
- Master's degree with 3 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.
- Must have a DoD 8570 IAM level II (or higher) security certification.
- Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (or higher).
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Programs.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security.
- CASP CE certification.
- 4 years of experience with Certification and Accreditation of classified systems and Risk Management Framework.
- Knowledge of ACAS, NESSUS, SPLUNK, SCAP, POA&Ms, NIST, DIACAP, NISPOM, system audits, vulnerability scanning, and RMF package development.
