About the position

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) III is responsible for maintaining the operational security posture of information systems, working closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Security Officer (ISO). This role involves managing security operations, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. The ISSO III will oversee daily security operations, conduct reviews, and assist in the development of security documentation and incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the operational security posture of information systems is maintained.
• Collaborate with the ISSM and ISO on security operations.
• Manage day-to-day security operations of information systems.
• Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
• Conduct periodic reviews of information systems for compliance.
• Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features are functioning correctly.
• Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible.
• Conduct continuous monitoring activities for authorization boundaries.
• Assist with the development of assessment and authorization efforts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of related experience in information security.
• 2+ years of experience with Special Access Programs (SAPs).
• Experience in developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages.
• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years).
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security) or IAM Level II certification.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

• Experience as a System or Network Administrator.
• Prior performance in roles such as ISSO.
