About the position

As an Information System Security Officer at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of information systems within the Information Technology Division. This position involves implementing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) in accordance with NIST standards, providing leadership and documentation regarding system security, and ensuring compliance with security policies. You will be responsible for overseeing security measures, remediating vulnerabilities, and supporting IT environments to enhance operational efficiency and security.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a principal advisor on security matters for Information Technology Division information systems.
• Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF) in accordance with NIST SP 800-37.
• Ensure compliance with DIA security policies and procedures for network, system, application, or service operations.
• Provide leadership briefs, reports, and documentation on system status and RMF progression.
• Ensure users have requisite security clearances and awareness before granting access to ITD information systems.
• Research and remediate security vulnerabilities as documented in the Security Assessment Report (SAR).
• Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for computer networks and information.
• Ensure appropriate security controls are in place to safeguard digital files and infrastructure.
• Oversee and support assigned IT environments for continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution.
• Develop or contribute to solutions for moderate scope and complexity problems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in information security.
• DoD Approved Baseline 8570 IAT level II certification required prior to start date.
• Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
