About the position

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) position at Cape Fox is focused on providing network oversight and ensuring the security of information systems in support of a government customer. The role involves coordinating security policies, conducting compliance assessments, and supporting mission connectivity across various operational locations. This position is contingent upon award and requires a strong background in information security and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily network oversight to operations, test and training personnel/students for SAP/SAR networks and systems
  • Support operations during deployments to enable mission connectivity between multiple locations including, FOLs, AOCs, CONUS operational locations, and higher headquarters
  • Draft and coordinate local Security Policy, Guidance, and Directions
  • Coordinate with HHQ on recommended changes to policy
  • Manage Wing IS Self-Inspection Program
  • Conduct unit level JSIG compliance assessment
  • Plan, prepare, and present education and training quarterly
  • Assist Program Security Officer (PSO) with monitoring the state of health of Systems Security and make suggestions for improvements as necessary
  • Implement IA controls to ensure all resident information systems are safe and secure
  • Initiate incident reporting and post-incident status as necessary
  • Comply with the JSIG
  • Coordinate and standardize between HHQ for policy, network certifications, incident reporting and mitigation, and local security policies and guidelines
  • Provide support for mission-specific communications and network operations
  • Conduct periodic IS Self-Inspections and report results to their government organization network and/or security directors
  • Assist Program Security Manager (PSM) and Wing ISSO with monitoring the state of health of Program Security and make suggestions for improvements as necessary
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as directed

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred) in one or more engineering or science disciplines or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • DoD 8570.01-M IA Certification
  • Must have an active TS/SCI Clearance
