About the position
The IT Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's IT systems. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies and procedures to protect IT systems from unauthorized access and breaches. The ISSO will monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct regular audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures to protect IT systems.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Perform regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate with IT teams to ensure secure configurations and system updates.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Provide security awareness training for staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, computer networking, telecommunications, and systems management.
- Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, network security, and risk management.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of data processing controls and concepts related to access management and network security technologies.
- Security Certifications: CISSP and other advanced technical security certifications preferred.
