The Information Systems Specialist 6 - Application Developer position at the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) offers an exciting opportunity for full-stack developers to contribute to the IT Applications Unit. This role involves enhancing existing applications and creating innovative solutions in a collaborative and inclusive environment. The position supports a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between remote and office work, primarily based in Salem, Oregon.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into innovative solutions.
  • Craft captivating user experiences through UI/UX design expertise.
  • Ensure quality and reliability through rigorous unit testing and dynamic application demonstrations.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Shape the future of ODF business applications through active participation and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Five years of information systems experience in computer programming, software development, or software engineering; OR an associate's degree in a related field and three years of experience; OR a bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience.
  • Proficient in C# programming and adept in object-oriented programming techniques.
  • Proficient in crafting and refining multi-tiered software applications with substantial hands-on experience in their design and development.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio IDE for software development.
  • Skilled in clear and articulate communication, both verbally and in writing, to individuals with varying levels of familiarity with application development and computers.
  • Skilled in creating technical specification documents and user manuals for non-technical business users.
  • Skilled with designing and developing web-based applications and desktop software.
  • Familiarity with the SOLID principles as they apply to object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with various Software Development technology stacks, including MVC, ASP.NET, .NET, Angular, AngularJS, Blazor, MAUI, Xamarin, Win API, and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with development in HTML5 and JavaScript.
