About the position

The Intake Worker at HealthWays is responsible for managing a caseload and providing both administrative and clinical supervision to behavioral management specialists. This full-time position involves accurately recording intake referrals, coordinating client benefits, and providing emergency and crisis intervention services. The role requires a Master's degree in a relevant field and experience in clinical mental health services, with a focus on effective case management and adherence to agency policies.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record intake and emergency service referrals, providing appropriate triage using DSM V knowledge.
• Match intakes to the most appropriate provider and payor source.
• Maintain a waiting list and schedule intakes according to agency policies.
• Open cases when needed and transfer them to appropriate staff for therapy.
• Coordinate client benefits with payer sources and admissions staff.
• Maintain timely and accurate consumer records as per Healthways policies and governmental regulations.
• Provide emergency and crisis intervention services and related documentation.
• Perform intake administrative case work and case assignment with the supervisor.
• Provide ongoing case management services for individuals at risk of psychiatric hospitalization.
• Arrange mental hygiene services, including securing inpatient placements and exploring least restrictive alternatives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in human services, counseling, mental health, or social work (preferred).
• Experience providing clinical mental health services.
• Knowledge and experience of DSM V diagnostic classifications.
• Experience with assessments and behavior management techniques.
• Good organizational skills and reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
