About the position

The County of Fresno is seeking motivated and skilled individuals to join their team as Information Technology Analysts I. This position is designed for those who are eager to start a career in the field of information technology, providing a unique opportunity to engage in various technical support roles within the County Clerk-Elections Office. The primary responsibilities of an Information Technology Analyst I include designing, developing, and troubleshooting IT applications, as well as modeling and administering databases. Analysts will also be tasked with implementing security protocols, identifying vulnerabilities, and neutralizing potential security threats, ensuring the integrity and security of the County's IT systems. In this role, candidates will be expected to perform related work as required, which may involve working in Fresno County Detention Facilities. It is important to note that these facilities operate under a strict 'no hostage' policy, meaning that the County will not negotiate for the safe release of any employee taken hostage. As part of the employment process, candidates may undergo a thorough background investigation and polygraph examination, which will assess various aspects of their personal and professional history, including employment and credit histories, education verification, and any criminal records. The position is classified under Medical Group I, which entails light physical activity. This may include lifting small, light objects and performing tasks that require some bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching. Candidates should be prepared for considerable walking or standing as part of their daily responsibilities. Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid certification from CompTIA, Microsoft, or Project Management Institute in a relevant field may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Completion of sixty semester units of coursework in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

Nice-to-haves
