About the position

The Information Technology / Digital Media Technician is responsible for performing a variety of technical and skilled tasks related to social and digital media, as well as IT support for Riverdale City. This role involves maintaining and developing digital media platforms, providing technical support, and assisting with the installation of hardware and software systems. The technician will also serve as a liaison for public communications regarding city projects and will be expected to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop social/digital media, website, and other print and digital media sources of the city.
  • Gather and prepare information for publishing of city newsletter and other special publications.
  • Act as city liaison for publication and notice of special projects impacting the public within city boundaries.
  • Perform first-level identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user technical support requests.
  • Assist with installation of new hardware and software systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and correct problems on various designated programs.
  • Provide training to end users relating to information technology and software.
  • Assist with the daily system operations.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from college with an associated degree in computer science, information technology, information systems or other related field.
  • Two to three years of experience related to the essential functions.
  • A+ certification required, preference for Certified Network Engineer (CNE) and/or Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE).
  • Thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices to protect data and IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple issues/assignments at once.
  • Effective written communication skills.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $27.26 - $44.61, starting salary generally at the lower end based on qualifications.
