About the position

The Information Technology (IT) Manager at Custom Veterinary Services (CVS) is responsible for overseeing the technology planning, budgeting, acquisition integration, maintenance, and security of the enterprise information systems. This role is crucial for ensuring that the IT infrastructure aligns with business objectives, enhances personnel productivity, and supports operational efficiency in a rapidly growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage IT infrastructure, including outsourced IT relationships such as MSP/MSSP.
• Create, maintain, and execute IT Strategy plan to align with business objectives.
• Ensure vendors deliver enhancements to meet current and forecasted needs.
• Monitor network performance, including DNS, firewall, VPN, and internet connections.
• Establish regular communication with Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment and priorities.
• Manage vendor relationships, including selection, management, and termination.
• Review, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors.
• Work with cross-functional departments to recommend new technologies for process improvement.
• Lead future digital, AI, or IT automation initiatives.
• Implement and maintain data warehouse/BI tools for a single source of information.
• Develop, manage, and track the IT department's annual budget.
• Ensure backups are tested, secured, and well documented for disaster recovery.
• Determine staffing needs and manage recruitment and training of new hires.
• Develop plans for hardware refresh standards and ensure they are budgeted and executed.
• Support due diligence activities on acquisition technology environments.
• Lead post-acquisition integration of ERP and Quality System platforms.
• Develop and maintain information security and risk management strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in IT management and supervising technology teams.
• 5 years of experience with firewalls and information security.
• Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network administration, and databases.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ERP and Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing context.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
