About the position

The Information Technology Manager 1 position at the Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for overseeing the Application Development Division, supervising lower-tier developers and testers, and ensuring the implementation of programming standards. This role requires a service-minded professional who can analyze and design large computer systems while assisting staff with technical issues. The position is hybrid eligible after a training period, allowing for a flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lower tier developers and testers in the area.
• Review program documentation and test results.
• Assist staff in solving difficult technical issues.
• Analyze and design large computer systems.
• Establish and enforce programming standards within the team.

Requirements

• 8 1/2 years of experience commensurate with job duties to be performed.
• 18 months of experience in performing project management functions.
• Completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science or related fields, including advanced-level programming languages, logic-based mathematics, database concepts, and computer systems analysis.
• 12 months of experience as Information Technology Supervisor 3 or equivalent.
