About the position

The Information Technology Manager (Security) is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and directing enterprise security strategies for the City of New Orleans. This role involves establishing and amending security policies to protect network, systems, and data environments, as well as presenting security performance reports and standardizing incident identification and reporting procedures. The manager will provide technical guidance for security projects in complex networked environments and ensure compliance with security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise security strategies for the City of New Orleans.
• Establish and amend security policies to protect network, systems, and data environments.
• Present reports on security performance at various organizational levels.
• Support reporting mechanisms to capture the current status of the security environment.
• Standardize incident identification, tracking, and reporting procedures.
• Investigate and recommend methods for obtaining security solutions.
• Provide managerial and technical guidance for security projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, engineering, telecommunications, or a closely related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in an information technology environment, including the use of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-virus software.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
