About the position

The Information Technology Manager 1 position at Taxation is a leadership role responsible for managing and overseeing the technical staff involved in data protection, security, and vulnerability management for application and infrastructure systems. This role ensures compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements while providing expert guidance to senior management and other stakeholders. The position is hybrid eligible after a training period, allowing for a flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide management, direction, and oversight for technical staff in data protection/security and vulnerability management.
• Ensure compliance with agency, state, and federal requirements during all phases of the system lifecycle.
• Oversee the provisioning of access and control of system security for Tax operation systems and tools.
• Interact with the Ohio Office of Information Security and Privacy and agency assigned AISO as necessary.
• Work with senior management and other staff to provide expert advice and guidance on technical issues.

Requirements

• Completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science or related fields with specific coursework in advanced programming languages, logic-based mathematics, database concepts, computer systems analysis & design, and basic data processing concepts.
• 6.5 years of experience commensurate with job duties, including 18 months in project management functions.
• 8.5 years of experience commensurate with job duties, including 18 months in project management functions.
• 12 months of experience as Information Technology Supervisor 3 or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in utilizing word processing software for 3 years.
• Experience in utilizing internet browsers for research for 3 years.
• Knowledge of information technology architecture components and strategic planning.
• Experience in preparing and making presentations/public speaking.
• Experience in writing IT-related policies and procedures.
• Experience in budget preparation and monitoring.
• Experience in providing cost and resource estimates and contract management.
• Experience in utilizing email systems for 2 years.
• Experience in project management or lead role on IT projects for 18 months.
• Experience in utilizing spreadsheet software for 12 months.
