About the position

The Information Technology Project Manager in the Department of Administration is responsible for providing technical and managerial support for mid-scale intra-agency and inter-agency information technology projects. This role encompasses all stages of the project management life cycle, ensuring alignment with business needs and successful project delivery on time and within budget. The Project Manager will lead project teams, manage vendor relationships, and oversee system design, development, testing, and implementation, while also ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and adherence to project methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager for mid-scale intra-agency and inter-agency IT projects.
  • Assemble and direct project teams, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Manage vendor selection and relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee system design, configuration, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Develop work plan schedules and allocate resources effectively.
  • Implement change control management to ensure project success.
  • Monitor, control, and deliver projects to a close, managing scope, time, cost, and completion.
  • Facilitate communication with project teams, vendors, management, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present periodic progress and status reports to management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience managing mid to large scale IT projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management principles, methods, and tools.
  • Experience with cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and manage projects and resources effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to convey project objectives and motivate teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in project management is preferred.
  • Experience with Workday is a plus.

  • Competitive salary range of $122,468 - $140,274 per year.
