About the position

The Information Technology Project Manager will support the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS) in executing their IT modernization plan. This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing IT security requirements while providing Business Intelligence (BI) support and managing project documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Providing program management support to OHSS Federal staff and contract teams in planning, coordinating, and sequencing execution of the OHSS IT modernization plan, including implementation of IT security requirements.
  • Providing Business Intelligence support and requirements gathering, leveraging experience with IT reporting environments and agile processes.
  • Providing Business Analyst and IT Project Management expertise to document, track, and report on project status and progress, and supporting course corrections as needed.
  • Managing software installation requests, license management, and equipment inventory for IT systems.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience implementing IT security requirements
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools and implementation at the enterprise level
  • Demonstrated proficiency in agile processes and leading agile teams
  • Demonstrated experience in software license management and equipment inventory
  • Organization and time management skills to keep projects on track
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles, concepts, and practices
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, build consensus, facilitate working sessions, and negotiate solutions and alternatives
  • Bachelor's in Information Systems, Information Technology, IT Management, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS suitability clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated experience implementing Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act (CIPSEA) IT security requirements
  • Advanced degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, IT Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Process engineering and integration knowledge is preferred
