About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee multiple solution selection and implementation initiatives that encompass both application and infrastructure components. This long-term contract role requires the individual to manage the day-to-day operations of enterprise programs and the project lifecycle for assigned technology projects, ensuring effective communication and execution of project goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex projects and project portfolios involving technology solutions.
• Plan and schedule project goals, milestones, and deliverables.
• Define requirements and plan the project life cycle deployment.
• Identify resources needed for project implementation.
• Communicate effectively with project teams, technical teams, and stakeholders.
• Create strategies for contingency planning and risk mitigation.
• Exhibit leadership qualities to mitigate project risks effectively.
• Identify and solve project issues as they arise.
• Oversee and direct project resources and team assessments.
• Manage changes and issues with stakeholders to ensure project execution is on schedule.
• Design and maintain project and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Active PMP certification or willingness to obtain it within 6 months of starting.
• Experience managing application and infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management, Business, Mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum of four years' experience in managing large technology projects and ongoing enterprise application support.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience managing a technical project team.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of municipal purchasing methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of marketing concepts to promote technology initiatives.
