About the position

TruGreen is seeking an experienced Information Technology Project Manager to oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of various IT projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all projects align with the strategic goals and commitments of the Project Management Office (PMO) and the organization as a whole. The Project Manager will work closely with both internal and external partners to manage multiple large or highly complex projects, ensuring successful completion within the established timelines and budgets. The Project Manager will establish detailed work plans for each phase of the project, providing clear direction to the project team. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, setting goals, and defining responsibilities for team members involved in research and development, budgeting, and scheduled delivery. The Project Manager will act as a liaison between project team members, business partners, and technical resources, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to tracking project progress and updating project management software, the Project Manager will report any issues, delays, or developments that may impact project completion. They will also establish plans to mitigate project risks and resolve issues as they arise. Adherence to project governance processes is essential, as is the documentation of policies, controls, and processes established or revised by the PMO. The role requires active participation in evaluating and improving the Project Management Methodology utilized by the PMO. The position may require travel to project sites to document current operations and assess site needs, with travel expectations being less than 20%. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage time effectively while maintaining a results-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall planning, execution, and control of multiple large or highly complex IT projects to successful completion.
  • Establish work plans for each phase of the project and issue direction to the project team.
  • Assign tasks, goals, and responsibilities to project team members for research and development, budgeting, and scheduled delivery.
  • Serve as a liaison between project team members, business partners, and technical resources.
  • Provide ongoing strategic direction and budgeting to the project team.
  • Track progress, update project management software, and maintain a communication log with deliverables and artifacts created during project execution.
  • Report issues, delays, and/or developments that may slow or alter the course of project completion, escalating problems as appropriate to management and clients.
  • Establish plans to mitigate project risks and resolve issues.
  • Adhere to project-related governance processes and facilitate the sharing of resources, methodologies, and tools.
  • Assist with documenting policies, controls, and processes established or revised by the PMO.
  • Produce project status reporting, baseline expectations for project management processes by type, success metrics, and related documentation.
  • Actively participate in evaluating and improving the Project Management Methodology defined and utilized by the PMO.
  • Travel to project sites to document the current state of operations and assess site needs and/or updates (less than 20%).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5-6 years of project management experience.
  • 1-3 years of IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with different types of data mapping and integration activities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
