About the position

At Regions, the Information Technology Project Manager leads large or multiple complex projects with significant scope and impact while working independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring ingenuity with some latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. This position partners with business leaders and managers to manage projects and their delivery through multi-disciplinary teams to achieve specific business outcomes while being held accountable for project results. The role is essential in shaping and leading organizational efforts, translating strategy into results by converting business needs into tangible delivery work. The Project Manager defines, develops, and manages the overall project schedule to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager guides teams through project structuring, problem definition, issues identification, and resolution development using problem-solving principles and past experience. They identify, prioritize, and quantify project opportunities based on assessment activities and an understanding of high-level vision, performance gaps, and needs relative to business drivers within the banking industry. This role also involves identifying, engaging, and leading multi-disciplinary teams to plan and deliver the business outcomes of the projects assigned. Additionally, the Project Manager assesses and manages risk throughout the project life cycle and works with key stakeholders to deliver risk mitigation plans as needed. They manage technology projects for various business groups throughout the Enterprise related to network upgrades, hardware installations, software and app development, data management, and large-scale system replacements. The Project Manager maintains responsibility and accountability for the quality and accuracy of all deliverables associated with the projects assigned and executes departmental projects and tasks as assigned. Mentoring other associates in developing business knowledge, analytical skills, and project management skills is also a key responsibility of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for quality and accuracy of all deliverables associated with the projects assigned
  • Executes departmental projects and tasks as assigned
  • Mentors other associates in developing/honing business knowledge, analytical skills, and project management skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related degree
  • Six (6) years of project management related experience
  • Ability to create and deliver influential large-scale project communications with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and multiple commitments/projects simultaneously
  • Relevant work experience in technology with a broad understanding across multiple IT disciplines
  • Familiarity with the Kanban approach, utilizing Jira and Confluence toolsets
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Understanding of leadership development and engagement techniques in professional corporate settings
  • Strong written/verbal communication, organizational, and analytical skills
