About the position

Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking an Information Technology Project Manager for a potential opportunity to provide data management support services to assist The Science and Technology, S&T, Finance and Budget Division, FBD, in the Department of Homeland Security, DHS. This role involves sanitizing data used by all five branches within the FBD. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning and managing IT projects at every phase, which includes defining project goals, determining the necessary systems and technology, creating detailed schedules, building budgets, identifying staffing needs, and hiring and managing project staff. As the Information Technology Manager, you will plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. You will lead and guide the work of technical staff and serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of projects. Your responsibilities will include planning project stages and assessing the business implications for each stage, as well as monitoring progress to meet deadlines, standards, and cost targets. The position also involves providing technical and management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments, establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives, and ensuring that technical requirements are met. You will have overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing, and your decision-making and domain knowledge may critically impact overall project implementation. Additionally, you may supervise others in this role.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT project management.
  • Expertise in project implementation and management.
  • Strong knowledge of data management and support services.

  • Familiarity with business intelligence implementation.
  • Public Trust clearance.
