About the position

Insight Global is seeking to hire 2 IT Security Analysts to work in a hybrid capacity in Richmond, VA. The primary responsibility of these analysts will be to ensure that the agency adheres to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Information Security Policies and Standards. This will involve close collaboration with the IT Department, Information Security Department, and various technical teams and stakeholders. The analysts will be tasked with creating comprehensive plans, frameworks, and procedures that guide the teams in achieving compliance with established security standards. In addition to compliance, the analysts will conduct thorough evaluations of the systems across different departments. They will identify potential vulnerabilities, threats, and impacts associated with the information systems, applications, and processes in place. Based on their assessments, they will provide actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing the overall cybersecurity strategy of the agency. The role requires a proactive approach to risk management and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices. The selected candidates will be expected to demonstrate their ability to assess systems and create documentation that illustrates compliance with Section 530 requirements. This position offers a competitive compensation range of $90,000 to $110,000, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Government Technology Implementation, IT Governance, or a related field (work experience in lieu of degree).
  • 5 years of experience conducting comprehensive risk assessments of information systems, applications, and processes.
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 Security Standards.
  • Ability to assess systems and create documentation demonstrating compliance with Section 530 requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISA, or related education.
