About the position

The Information Technology Specialist (Audio Visual) position at the U.S. Department of State involves overseeing the design, installation, and operation of major audiovisual systems. The role requires a strong focus on information security, risk analysis, and compliance tracking to protect information assets. The incumbent will lead interdisciplinary teams in executing complex audiovisual projects that support the Foreign Service Institute's instructional goals while ensuring cybersecurity measures are in place.

Responsibilities

• Provide monitoring and compliance tracking for the protection of information assets.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities when failures occur.
• Perform risk analysis and assessments on existing and proposed systems, documenting findings and recommending security safeguards.
• Evaluate software packages for security vulnerabilities and provide results to technical staff and management.
• Ensure compliance of security configurations for IT systems and develop clear processes for implementation.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to maintain a moderate risk clearance.
• Experience as a subject matter expert in audiovisual systems design, installation, and operation.
• Proven ability to design and develop complex audiovisual hardware systems and software programs.
• Experience in evaluating systems security issues and recommending effective solutions.
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary teams in complex engineering and administrative activities.
• Skilled in developing comprehensive project plans and overseeing audiovisual system projects.
