About the position

The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) is recruiting energetic individuals to be part of the IT Field in the IT Asset Management and Workstation Support Section within the Operation Management Bureau (OMB). Successful candidate(s) will report to the Supervisor of Workstation Support as a skilled technician on complex PC related hardware and software issues to configure and deploy PC and related equipment, support mobile devices, and provide excellent customer service. The analyst will be part of a team that provides Client Services support with a focus on IT Asset Management. Workstation Support has the direct responsibility of providing essential second level support for PC hardware and software, along with peripherals and other PC related services for FTB. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software, mobile devices, printers, and other networked peripherals in support of the enterprise mission of providing exemplary customer service to the taxpayers. Analyst will be responsible for tracking all assets in our Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Provides response to the desktop and mobile computing requests, maintains inventory of hardware and software assets ensuring compliance using various IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools. Assists in the provisioning and compliance of wireless devices using the AirWatch\Intune console.

Responsibilities

  • Provide second level support for PC hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including mobile devices and printers.
  • Track all assets in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
  • Respond to desktop and mobile computing requests.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets.
  • Ensure compliance using various IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools.
  • Assist in provisioning and compliance of wireless devices.

Requirements

  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience configuring, deploying, and supporting mobile devices, laptops, desktops, and other IT equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems.
  • Experience documenting procedures and configuration settings.
  • Experience working with vendors for equipment repairs.
  • Experience supporting MAC OS, iOS, and Android operating systems.
  • Experience supporting Virtual Machines.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Experience using CA Service Desk or other ticket tracking products.
  • Experience maintaining IT Hardware and Software assets.

  • Experience leading IT projects.
  • Experience with wireless devices, networks, and components.
  • Experience with mobile device management consoles.
